Killmington and the surrounding area provide you with a fantastic opportunity to sample the best that East Devon has to offer. A couple of miles away is the ancient market town of Axminster, where you will find lovely shops, cafes, galleries and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s famous River Cottage Canteen, not forgetting the chance to pick up one of the town’s famous Axminster carpets!

Cranberries is just five miles from the World Heritage Site known as The Jurassic Coast. Here there is an abundance of local seaside resorts  including Lyme Regis with its stunning coastline, the famous Cobb harbour, fossil hunting and beautiful scenic gardens. The traditional fishing village of Beer is less than 8 miles distant with boat trips available. Seaton with its wide promenade and fashionable delicatessens and historic tramway is within a 10 minute drive.

Honiton is a bustling local market town renowned for its beautiful lace, pottery and first class choice of antiques. While less than 30 miles away is Exeter, with it’s 12th century Cathedral, medieval underground passages, museums and art gallery, historic quayside and excellent shopping.

For a family fun day out Bicton Park has historic glasshouses, a Woodland Railway train ride, nature trail, maze, mini golf, and indoor & outdoor children’s play complexes. Escot has woodland paths, picnic spots, forest playgrounds and an Aquatic Centre, while Crealy Adventure Park has exciting rides, indoor adventures, animals and fun events.

The National Trust has over 30 properties in Devon, including close to Cranberries; the 18th century Killerton House, Clyston Mill, The Old Bakery, Manor Mill & Forge at Branscombe and the medieval manor house at Shute Barton, just a couple of miles away.
